The history of the formation of the Jurnal Asiimetrik: Jurnal Ilmiah Rekayasa Dan Inovasi is a new form of the Jurnal Teknik Fakultas Teknik Universitas Pancasila, which previously published in 1998. Based on the Dean's Assignment, Letter number 737 / D / FT / IV / 2018 concerning the Responsible Team and Editors of the Engineering Journal dated April 27, 2018. As an effort to increase scientific publication as a form of Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi in the field of Engineering in the Fakultas Teknik Universitas Pancasila and following the development of digital scientific publication technology and the existence of an accreditation rating program or better known as SINTA against journals in Higher Education and Research and Government institutions by the Ministry of Research and Technology, the team decided to form or publish a journal with a new name and manage website-based journal management or better known as the Online Journal System (OJS) and approved by Dean.

Based on the editorial team meeting and the Dean of Fakultas Teknik Universitas Pancasila on November 8, 2018, Jurnal ASIIMETRIK: Jurnal Ilmiah Rekayasa & Inovasi was legalized and later under the supervision of the Research and Community Service Unit (UP2M), Fakultas Teknik Universitas Pancasila. Jurnal ASIIMETRIK: Jurnal Ilmiah Rekayasa & Inovasi is a national journal that publishes scientific articles based on case study research, review articles, engineering, and innovation covering both theoretical and practical aspects and their development. The topics of scientific articles published to cover the fields of Architecture, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Information Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering.

Based on the Center for Scientific Data and Documentation (PDDI) LIPI with Decree number 0005.26551861 / JI.3.1 / SK.ISSN / 2018.12 dated December 4, 2018, starting from the edition of Vol. 1, No. 1, January 2019, Jurnal ASIIMETRIK: Jurnal Ilmiah Rekayasa & Inovasi is published regularly every two times a year,  in January and July and has been registered with p-ISSN: 2655-1861 (print). Then followed by the PDDI LIPI Decree dated February 6, 2020, number 0005.27162923 / JI.3.1 / SK.ISSN / 2020.02 starting from the edition of Vol. 2, No. 1, January 2020, Jurnal ASIIMETRIK: Jurnal Ilmiah Rekayasa & Inovasi has been registered online with e-ISSN: 2716-2923 (online).

Since Vol 2, No. 1, in 2020, Jurnal ASIIMETRIK: Jurnal Ilmiah Rekayasa & Inovasi has updated the writing format and appearance of article covers. This amendment aims to accommodate the issuance of e-ISSN numbers and improve the visual quality of publications. In the same year, the Jurnal ASIIMETRIK: Jurnal Ilmiah Rekayasa & Inovasi has updated the writing format, website appearance, and the writing of the name of the journal according to the applicable ISSN number is Jurnal Asiimetrik: Jurnal Ilmiah Rekayasa Dan Inovasi. This amendment aims to improve the quality of journals as well as the provisions of Research and Technology / National Agency for Research and Technology on journal accreditation ratings and will apply to Vol. 3, No. 1 in 2021.

Jurnal Asiimetrik: Jurnal Ilmiah Rekayasa Dan Inovasi has been accredited to SINTA 4 since the edition of Volume 1 Number 2 of 2019 based on the Decree of the Minister of Research and Technology / National Agency for Research and Technology Number: 200/M/KPT/2020 concerning the Accreditation Ranking of Scientific Journals Period III 2020 dated 23 December 2020.

Changes in issue writing based on a letter numbers B/37/E5.2/KI.02.00/2021,  Januari 14, 2021 from the Ministry of Research and Technology / National Research and Innovation Agency Deputy for Strengthening Research And Development,  about writing issue numbering that is consistent and standard in accordance with the set scale by including the volume number, issue number and year of publication by type Arabic numerals (not roman), then the writing of the issue title format was changed from the issue of volume 1 number 1 of 2019.

Jurnal Asiimetrik: Jurnal Ilmiah Rekayasa Dan Inovasi has been accredited to SINTA 3 from SINTA 4 since the edition of Volume 4 Number 2 of 2022 until  Volume 9 Number 1 of 2027 based on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education, Research and Technology Number: 225/E/KPT/2022 concerning the Accreditation Ranking of Scientific Journals Period III 2022 dated 7 December 2022.
