PENYULUHAN PEMANFAATAN LIMBAH SAMPAH PLASTIK PADA MASYARAKAT DESA REMPOAH

Abstract

Plastic waste has become a problem because it is not easily decomposed naturally (non-biodegradable). Plastic waste takes decades to hundreds of years to decompose. Central and regional governments and various organizations have promoted efforts to minimize plastic waste generation; however, plastic use is still quite high. The community service team has provided outreach regarding the use and processing of plastic waste using the heat press method to transform it into new, useful items. This activity aims to increase citizens' awareness of utilizing and managing plastic waste to reduce the generation of plastic waste. Community service partners are residents of Rempoah Village, Baturraden District, Banyumas Regency, Central Java, who have not yet managed and utilized plastic waste. The method used in community service activities is transferring knowledge through outreach activities. The results obtained from this activity were an increase in participants' knowledge of the use and processing of plastic waste.
