“A DAY IN MY LIFE” – PENGEMBANGAN KETERAMPILAN BERBAHASA INGGRIS SISWA SDN CIMONE 1 MELALUI PENULISAN KREATIF DAN ILUSTRATIF

Abstract

Program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan keterampilan menulis dan berbicara Bahasa Inggris siswa SDN Cimone 1 melalui penulisan kreatif bertema “A Day in My Life”. Siswa dilatih menarasikan pengalaman pribadi secara lisan sekaligus menghasilkan buku mini sebagai luaran otentik yang memadukan bahasa, ekspresi diri, dan ilustrasi. Kegiatan dilaksanakan secara partisipatif melalui tahapan sosialisasi, pelatihan menulis dan berbicara, penerapan project-based learning dengan pembuatan mini book, pendampingan dan evaluasi, hingga rencana keberlanjutan. Hasil menunjukkan seluruh siswa mampu menghasilkan karya tulis sederhana, mayoritas berani mempresentasikan cerita mereka, serta lebih percaya diri menggunakan Bahasa Inggris secara lisan. Guru SDN Cimone 1 berperan aktif sebagai co-fasilitator sehingga metode ini berpotensi direplikasi dalam pembelajaran reguler. Luaran program mencakup karya mini book siswa, modul pembelajaran kreatif, dan dokumentasi kegiatan, dengan dukungan sekolah melalui rencana pengembangan English Corner mingguan. Secara keseluruhan disimpulkan program ini membuktikan bahwa kolaborasi perguruan tinggi dan sekolah dasar dapat menghadirkan inovasi pembelajaran yang menyenangkan, aplikatif, dan berkelanjutan serta berdampak langsung pada peningkatan literasi produktif siswa.
