PEDIATRIC CANCER HOSPITAL TYPE B IN SEMARANG, THE THEME OF HEALING ENVIRONMENT, APPROACH TO ARCHITECTURAL PSYCHOLOGY
Abstract
In 2013 according to data from the Ministry of Health Republic of Indonesia, there were 347,792 cancer patients in Central Java Province, which had 68,638 cases. Approximately 11,000 cancer patients are children per year come from underprivileged families in Indonesia. According to a report from the Indonesian Ministry of Health, the most common types of cancer in children are Leukemia, Retinoblastoma, Osteosarcoma (bone cancer), Neuroblastoma, and Lymphoma. There are few public facilities for cancer in Semarang, including the Central General Hospital (RSUP) Dr. Kariadi, Semarang Medical Center (SMC) hospital Tegalrejo, and there are no available Children's Cancer Special Hospital facilities. In order to implement the prevention and cure of children's cancer patients, we need a health center that could serve children's cancer patients. The idea or design theme is a Therapeutic Environment suitable for a particular pediatric cancer hospital with an architectural psychology approach. A therapeutic Environment is a building design that blends with the therapeutic environment, natural atmosphere, and healing environment and supports the patient's psychology.
