Abstract

The diversity of religions and cultures in Indonesia provides rich and unique colors in the form of differences, ranging from community habits and worship procedures to the location of worship itself. In the context of Islam in Indonesia, we see various places of worship, such as prayer rooms and mosques. As a building established with clear boundaries, the mosque is the center of worship activities for Allah, including prayer, dhikr, reading the Koran, and other worship activities. The diversity of types of mosques, from large to small, such as the Grand Mosque, State Mosque, Grand Mosque, Grand Mosque, and Jami Mosque, is reflected in the variety of functions and different locations where they are placed. In designing the Grand Mosque in Serpong, South Tangerang, primary attention was given to Analogical Architecture and Green Architecture concepts. This not only refers to worship activities but also reflects the philosophy and characteristics of South Tangerang. The Green Architecture concept promoted in this design aims to reduce negative environmental and human impacts while optimizing the efficient use of natural resources and renewable energy. With the realization of the South Tangerang Grand Mosque, it is hoped that it can become a center for religious activities that provide comfort and efficiency for the surrounding community. Apart from that, the presence of this building is also expected to become a unique new icon and have deep meaning for the city where it was designed.
