Abstract

The abstract contains the summary of the manuscript that includes the background, problems, objectives, methods, and results or conclusions. Smart Signals is one of the latest innovations in railway signaling systems designed to improve safety, efficiency, and travel smoothness. This study aims to introduce the concept of Smart Signals simply, explain how it works, and assess its benefits to modern railway operations. The research method was conducted through a literature study from various current sources discussing the development of signaling technology, as well as a comparative analysis between traditional systems and smart systems. The results show that Smart Signals are able to provide real-time train traffic information, help manage safe distances between trains, and reduce the risk of delays due to slow manual communication. The conclusion of this study is that Smart Signals are an important step in the modernization of railways.
