ANALYSIS OF ARCHITECTURAL STYLES IN CONSERVATION BUILDINGS. CASE STUDY : TOKO MERAH, WEST JAKARTA

Toko Merah building is one of the cultural heritage buildings in Indonesia. The building, which has existed since the Dutch colonial period, still stands strong and continues to function today. Buildings with the status of historic buildings or cultural heritage buildings need to be preserved, so that their architectural traces can still be studied and maintained. It is necessary to have knowledge of buildings such as structures, styles and characteristics of buildings on the object of preservation so as not to change the characteristics and authenticity of the building. In this paper, we will examine the architectural style of the Toko Merah building object. The research will use descriptive qualitative research methods by collecting data such as archives, maps, literature and photos from Toko Merah at two different periods and analyzing the data results to compare the differences in the architectural style of Toko Merah at two different times. Through the results of the study, it was found that Toko Merah, with its many changes in building functions, still maintains the facade, column and floor structure, and original characteristics such as doors, windows and frames. From the results of the analysis, Toko Merah can be classified into Class B Cultural Conservation Buildings.
