A Child Social Welfare Institution is a residential care facility that should support children’s comfort, safety, privacy, and well-being. This study analyzes site characteristics as the basis for designing a Child Social Welfare Institution using a biophilic architecture approach in Soreang, Bandung Regency. A descriptive qualitative method was applied through macro- and micro-scale analyses. The macro analysis examined spatial planning compatibility, accessibility, environmental conditions, and proximity to public facilities, while the micro analysis addressed solar exposure, airflow, vegetation, views, noise, and zoning. The findings indicate that the site provides good accessibility, proximity to educational and healthcare facilities, and views toward rice fields and surrounding mountains. Its main constraints include traffic noise, eastern and western solar exposure, unmanaged vegetation, and the need to protect residents’ privacy. These findings were translated into strategies involving building orientation, cross-ventilation, shading devices, vegetative buffers, separation of public and private zones, and integration of communal areas with green open spaces.
