KAJIAN TIPOLOGI BANGUNAN TRANSPORTASI KARYA SANTIAGO CALATRAVA

Bangunan transportasi tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai sarana mobilitas, tetapi juga dapat membentuk citra visual, identitas kawasan, dan pengalaman ruang publik. Santiago Calatrava Valls merupakan salah satu arsitek yang banyak menghasilkan karya transportasi dengan karakter kuat melalui hubungan antara bentuk, struktur, teknologi, dan makna gerak. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi kecenderungan tipologis bangunan transportasi karya Santiago Calatrava Valls melalui lima studi kasus, yaitu Alamillo Bridge, Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport Railway Station, Bohl Bus and Tram Stop, Sondica Airport, dan WTC Transportation Hub. Metode yang digunakan adalah deskriptif-kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus komparatif. Analisis dilakukan berdasarkan enam aspek, yaitu fungsi, analogi visual, struktur, teknologi, pemanfaatan ruang, dan makna karya. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa karya transportasi Calatrava memiliki kecenderungan tipologis berupa ekspresi struktur yang dominan, bentuk dinamis, analogi gerak, serta pemanfaatan teknologi untuk membentuk citra ikonik bangunan. Struktur tidak hanya berperan sebagai sistem konstruksi, tetapi juga menjadi elemen visual yang membentuk massa, ruang, dan pengalaman gerak pengguna.
