Correction and Retraction

Manuscript Withdrawal, Correction and Retraction Policy

Jurnal Riset Bisnis is committed to maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and credibility of scholarly publishing. This policy governs the withdrawal of manuscripts before publication and the correction or retraction of articles after publication.

1. Manuscript Withdrawal

Jurnal Riset Bisnis allows authors to request manuscript withdrawal before publication, subject to the journal's editorial procedures. The request must be submitted in writing by the corresponding author through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform or the journal's official email address. The request must include the reason for withdrawal and confirmation that all authors agree to the request. Withdrawal takes effect only after written confirmation from the editorial team.

  • Permitted stages: Withdrawal may be requested during initial screening, peer review, and manuscript revision, before final acceptance.

  • Regular withdrawal deadline: Regular withdrawal is permitted before the manuscript is accepted and enters the publication production stage.

  • After acceptance: A manuscript that has been accepted and entered production cannot be withdrawn unilaterally. Withdrawal may be considered only in exceptional circumstances, such as substantial errors or ethical violations, following an assessment and decision by the Editor-in-Chief.

  • After publication: Articles published online, including online-first or early-view articles, cannot be withdrawn through the ordinary manuscript withdrawal procedure. Any concerns regarding published articles will be handled under the procedures for correction, Expression of Concern, or retraction.

  • Resubmission to another journal: Authors must not submit the manuscript to another journal until they have received official confirmation that the withdrawal process at JRB has been completed.

2. Correction and Retraction of Published Articles

Jurnal Riset Bisnis is committed to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record through appropriate correction or retraction of published articles.

2.1. Corrections

A correction may be issued when an error is identified in a published article but does not fundamentally invalidate the validity of its findings or conclusions. Such errors may include inaccuracies in data, calculations, methodological information, or other important details.

The editorial team will assess the nature and significance of the error and determine the appropriate editorial action.

2.2. Retractions

A retraction may be issued when serious problems make an article's findings or conclusions unreliable or when a significant breach of publication integrity is identified. Grounds may include, but are not limited to, data fabrication or falsification, substantial plagiarism, unjustified duplicate publication, or serious violations of research ethics.

Corrections and retractions aim to maintain the integrity of the scholarly record and protect readers and the academic community, rather than merely to penalize authors.

2.3. Editorial Assessment

Reports of suspected errors or publication misconduct will be handled through an objective, proportionate, and documented editorial process, with appropriate confidentiality for the parties involved.

The editorial team may request clarification from the authors, examine supporting documents and data, and consult independent reviewers or relevant institutions when necessary. Authors will be given a reasonable opportunity to respond. The final decision on correction or retraction rests with the editorial team and must be made independently of conflicts of interest.

2.4. Expression of Concern

If serious concerns arise about a published article but the investigation has not produced sufficient evidence for a final decision, Jurnal Riset Bisnis may publish an Expression of Concern. This notice informs readers of the issue while the matter remains unresolved.

2.5. Publication of Notices and Article Status

Every correction or retraction must be announced through an official notice explaining the article's identity, the reason for the editorial action, the date of the decision or notice publication, and the relevant changes or status of the article.

The notice must be linked to the original article and, where available, its DOI and publication metadata. Retracted articles will generally remain in the journal archive with a clear Retracted label, unless legal requirements or the protection of safety and privacy necessitate restricted access.

3. Editorial Principles and References

Jurnal Riset Bisnis bases its decisions on the evidence available, the seriousness of the issue, and recognized publication ethics principles. The journal refers to the guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), including its Retraction Guidelines, and other internationally recognized scholarly publishing practices.
